What Are Chakras?
Many ancient traditions including the Inca, Hindu, African/Egyptian, Tsalagi (Cherokee), and Maya have carefully passed down this knowledge down from generation to generation. Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means "wheel of light".
Chakras are the essence of the the system. Often referred to the energy centers or energy organs, and they are arrange both the physical and subtle energies of the body. Since chakras are the energetic organs of the body, maintenance and proper care of this system is vital to overall health. For example, the root chakra associated with the base of the spine, the pelvic floor, and the first three vertebrae, and responsible for an individual’s sense of security and survival. It is also directly connected to the function of the colon, bladder, legs, lower back and feet. If this chakra is out of balance, blocked or not functioning properly, one can experience issues such associated with the bowels, anxiety disorders, or even nightmares.
Reiki is an ancient spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”.The practitioner channels this life force energy through the front and backside of the chakras to promote a deep state of relaxation, which in turn promotes deep healing, restoration and balance.
